Mediumship
The people you have loved and lost are still here. You can sit with them again.
A mediumship session is a one-on-one conversation with the people you have lost. They arrive in their fully evolved form: clear, loving, no longer carrying what they carried in life. You leave with connection, with the relief of putting down the hows and whys, and with ground under your feet again.Â
At a glance
You have been carrying this for longer than anyone around you realizes.
Maybe it has been a year. Maybe five. Maybe twenty. The world has long since assumed you are fine, because you are competent, and competent people learn to keep walking.
Underneath the walking, the questions are still running. Did they know how much I loved them. Were they scared at the end. Did I do enough. Are they okay now. Am I allowed to be okay now.
You have read the books. You have done the therapy. You have heard every version of the well-meaning advice, and none of it has reached the place that needs reaching.
What if what you need is not the answer you came asking for?
Most people arrive with a list. A question they have been holding for years, a name they want to hear, a thing they need confirmed.
And then something else comes through. Not the answer on the list, but the one underneath it, the one nobody knew to ask for. That is the message that tends to move people. They did not know it was what they needed until it was in the room, and then the relief arrives all at once.
It is also lighter in here than people expect. There is often laughter, sometimes a lot of it, and it does not take anything away from the grief. A room that can hold both is a room where more can actually happen.
I have been holding this room for 14 years.
I’m Katie Quinn. Medium, Reiki Master, IET Master, IAPCC Certified Death Doula. Before this work I ran my own CFO and accounting practice, so I know the rational world from the inside, and I know what it is to want structure and a reason to trust what is happening in a room.
In 14 years and roughly 5,000 sessions I have sat with the recently bereaved and the long bereaved. With the spouse who has not slept through the night since the funeral. With the daughter who never got to apologize. With the mother who needs to know her child arrived safely.
There is nothing you can bring in here that will surprise me, and you do not need to know what you believe. I sit on the floor, often with crystals to map the relationships in the room, and I translate what is already present. No theatrics. No dogma. Nothing you have to convert to.
The people who come through arrive in their fully evolved form. Whatever they carried in life, the illness, the addiction, the temper, the regret, is no longer with them. They arrive clear and loving and ready. That is the part most people are not prepared for, and the relief of it is often the first thing that moves.
The shape of the hour.
A mediumship session is 60 minutes, one-on-one, in person or remote.
We begin with a short conversation. You do not have to arrive with a list of names or a script, and you do not have to tell me who you want to hear from. It is often better if you do not. The people who need to come through tend to arrive on their own, and the session works best when I am not steering for a specific outcome.
I work spatially. Often on the floor, often with crystals placed around us, each one representing someone in the family system: the living, the dead, and sometimes presences that have not yet been named.
As people come through, I describe what I am receiving: a presence, a quality, a message, a memory, a feeling in the room. Sometimes it arrives as words, sometimes as images, sometimes as a knowing that lands in my body and I say out loud. You will recognize what is yours. You will also, often, be surprised by what arrives that you did not know you needed.
You can ask questions. You can cry, or laugh, or fall silent. There is no right way to be in the room.
This work is for you if
- You have lost someone, and the loss has not found a place to rest.
- You have tried the other paths, therapy, time, faith, the books, and something is still unmoved.
- You suspect, in the part of you that does not need to explain itself, that the person you lost is still somewhere. You do not need to be sure what that means to begin.
- You want connection and a way forward, and you are willing to sit in the room and see what happens.
And it is probably not for you if
- You are coming to test me. That is a reasonable thing to want, and I am not the right person for it. I do not run tests and I do not lead with proof. People are regularly startled by what arrives, and they routinely hear things I had no way of knowing, but that is what the work produces rather than what it performs. If being convinced is the goal, there are mediums who specialize in that, and I will gladly point you toward them.
- You are in the first raw weeks after a loss, especially the loss of a child. This work can help enormously, but it is usually not the right first call. Crisis support or a counselor trained in acute grief comes first. We can talk when the ground stops shaking.
- You would rather sit back and have information delivered at you. The session is a conversation and it works because both people are in it.
How to begin.
Book your session.
Come as you are.
We sit together.
What changes after a session.
You feel them again. Not as a memory, but as a presence, and you know in your body that the love did not end when the breath did.
The survivor’s guilt loosens. That quiet, persistent sense that you are not allowed to move on, to love again, to be happy, begins to let go, and you can put down what you have been carrying without letting go of them.
The relationship continues, in a different form and on different terms. Many people describe the session not as a one-time event but as a doorway that stays open.
In other people's words
“I had a beautiful mediumship reading from Katie Quinn. She had a unique approach for connecting with ancestors, and the information she brought forward was spot on, as well as so healing to hear and feel the continued connection that our loved ones share with us even after they’ve passed. Highly recommend!”
“Katie truly is gifted. She is kind, caring, and compassionate in sharing the messages she receives. Through her work not only are you able to connect with those that have passed but are able to heal as well.”
“Katie shared things and happenings that she could not possibly know. Our session brought such comfort to me. If you are thinking about a session with Katie, do it.”
A few practical questions.
Do I need to tell you who I want to hear from?
No. It is usually better if you do not. The people who need to come through tend to arrive on their own.
Can the session happen remotely?
Yes. In-person sessions happen on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Remote sessions happen by video and work just as well.
Can I bring someone with me?
Individual sessions are one-on-one, but a joint session with a sibling, parent, or adult child can be arranged. Reach out and we will sort it out.
What if I would rather have my own people in the room?
You can. A Small Group is a mediumship reading held for two to ten of your own people, in a space you choose. Learn more under Small Groups.
What if no one comes through?
In 14 years and roughly 5,000 sessions this has been extraordinarily rare. If it happened, we would talk about it honestly and figure out the right next step together.
